In a taut 1 hour 10 minute set, Paul Weller went from "Eton Rifles" through to "You Do Something to Me" off "Stanley Road," along the way hitting "Shout to the Top" from the Style Council and "Empty Ring" off his new album "22 Dreams".

Without much fanfare Weller projects a depth on stage that compliments the natural richness of his music. And that's good cause on another soaked Green Stage Friday, the audience needed all the power they could get. With over 30 years playing and consistently releasing albums, he's a professional whose stage presence — steaming shirt, smoking smokes, utilitarian arrangement — confirms the songs’ sensuousness, never mind any rock history importance they may have.

Weller and the band finished of with a chunky take on "Wildwood" that is what the original sounded like if it was recorded for the album "Heavy Soul" from the mid-’90s.
