Current Drummer for Paul Weller's band, Mr. Steve Pilgrim has just released a rather lovely brand new album titled, "Sunshine." You can find song samples and links to buy the record over at Steve's MySpace page. Throw a little support his way as it is a totally independent release.
The second two CD set of live performances from the UK television show, "Later...Live With Jools Holland" will include Paul's most recent appearance. The tune selected is "Push It Along" from the 22 Dreams album.

“I can remember the wonderment it filled me with as a kid and it still does after all these years – the soundscape it creates in my mind which I can never put my finger on and never want to. We've got so much information about The Beatles now, where they wrote this and recorded that and how, but sometimes that takes the magic away. Sometimes you just don't need to know all those things. I remember seeing the two promo films, for this and Penny Lane. I was about nine, watching it on the black and white grainy TV set and I was so knocked out by it, and hearing the song on the radio it was like something coming in from another planet at the time. It's the world's most psychedelic record. No, I'd never attempt to cover it, wouldn't know where to begin, maybe strip it down, do it on acoustic guitar but that still wouldn't be good enough. You can't touch it.”
Paul Weller Turns Up To Bristol Football Match Story Posted: Tuesday, September 22, 2009, 07:00
The players may have had no idea who he was but when the man in the shades and parka arrived their parents found it hard to concentrate on the game.
Rock star Paul Weller, 51, caused a sensation when he turned up to watch a boys' football match in Longwell Green on Sunday.
The former frontman of The Jam and The Style Council, now a long-established solo artist nicknamed "the Modfather" by fans, was on the sidelines for an under-9s clash between Longwell Green Sports and Coalpit Heath FC.
He was there with his girlfriend, singer Hannah Andrews, 23, to see Hannah's eight-year-old brother Jake play for the away side.
Weller's presence obviously inspired Jake, of Yate, and his team- mates, who ran out 8-2 winners.
But for parents who grew up listening to his music the scoreline became irrelevant as they waited for an autograph or a photo with one of their heroes.
Just got a note courtesy of a kind reader, Richard Ireland, that highlights from the Benicassim Festival will be shown on The Palladia Channel, the HD channel owned by MTV in the USA. Paul is listed as one of the artists who's performance will be shown. Could just be only one song, but still cool to see The Guv on US television. Here's the schedule. The first airing is tonight!!
Friday, September 11 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 15 3:30 PM Friday, September 18 11:30 AM Thursday, September 24 1:00 AM
Cheers again to Richard for the heads up as we might have missed this one.
As we reported earlier, Paul appears on Dot Allison's just released new album, Room 7 1/2. He co-wrote and duets on the song, "Love's Got Me Crazy." Here is Dot doing a lovely solo acoustic version of the song.
Release Date : 26-Oct-2009 ( UMC - Uni/Island ) Overview Remember how we started…
“I still really like the record - we weren’t making it for any other reason than to make a record and it re-introduced real music to a lot of people again in the way it was made. We were coming out of the technology of the ’80s, with those sterile recording methods, and it became about musicians playing live again and enjoying the experience.” Paul Weller - 2009
• This stunning 2-disc ‘deluxe’ edition of Paul Weller’s first solo album, originally released in 1992, follows the overwhelming success of the last few solo catalogue reissue projects – Stanley Road (Deluxe), Wild Wood (Deluxe) & Paul Weller At The BBC.
• Having split the Style Council and left his record label – Polydor, Paul was at something of a crossroads. He formed the Paul Weller Movement and started playing live shows again, initially to small crowds. He released the first solo single – Into Tomorrow (included here in its original version, d…
