Paul Weller last.fm Acoustic Session And Interview!


Paul stopped by last.fm and performed an acoustic session along with an interview. The session took place in May, but was posted just last week at the last.fm site.

"When The Jam released their debut single “In The City” b/w “Takin’ My Love” on April 29, 1977 in the U.K., the heralded musical career of Paul Weller was born. Next up was The Style Council and after those days were over, Paul, not knowing in next immediate steps, eventually took on his long-standing solo career. To our ears, the release of Sonik Kicks, his eleventh studio album, brings back the focus and vibrancy of The Jam classic long-player, Sound Affects. Two days before returning (for the first time) to the site of the first 4 U.S. shows The Jam did at CBGB in October 1977 (now a John Varvatos store), Paul along with Andy Crofts and Steve Cradock graced the Last.fm studio and treated us to three songs from Sonik Kicks."

Album Preview: Paul Weller Recruits Noel Gallagher, Thunderstorms to Share His “22 Dreams” “You get to this stage in life where you say ‘I’ve done everything that I can do,’” says Paul Weller. As he passes the half-century mark, Weller easily could have returned to his old stomping grounds, whether it was the mod-punk of his first band the Jam or the pop leanings of the Style Council. But rather than reliving past glory, Weller spent the last year recording 22 Dreams, the most expansive and experimental album of his career. “I was conscious when I walked into the studio that I wanted to do something different.
